THE FUTURE IN INVESTA
Since the advent of "ICO" there has been a spike in new blockchain projects that appear with koinale. Furthermore, since Bitcoin and many Alts reached all time high (ATH) in December 2017, the prices of most of the exchange-traded currencies have been reduced.
For this reason long-term view of bitcoin / alt Hodlers is now being questioned as price appreciation is driving so much luck during the 2017 price pump, now easing to support markets caught in trading ranges.
Many riders have become impatient or exhausted against the daily downturn in their Net Asset Rating (NAV) so look for other ways to complete the value of their crypto portfolio. This is where the ICO market looks more attractive because the return of several times your investment is still possible and even ordinary.
The biggest ICOs such as Telegram, Filecoin, Bancor, or Bankera have all collected more than $ 100 million in coins they have brought in early investors with tremendous opportunities to double their investments in no time. Presale discounts and incentives such as bonus tokens or prizes give the ultimate prize to the earliest believers in the project - usually when there is no certainty or validation of the crowd to rely on.
A prime example of early investors who have achieved great is Mike Novogratz who invested $ 500k in Ethereum at an early stage and now sits at $ 250m from ETH from the same investment. Now, ROI 500x is rare even in ICO requirements, but the chances are still to come even in the increasingly growing ICO market.
Telegram, another big name offers presale investors to buy TON tokens $ 0.33 while major ICO sales for more than $ 2.50. Gives initial buyers more than 7x their investment in just a few weeks. There is so much demand for TON that presale is sold out within a few days and there is an enormous $ minimum commitment to be approved to purchase at a presale price. (TON collects $ 850 million in presale only) Now the main activity of many ICO investors is DD (due diligence) which effectively examines and investigates the potential projects you are considering giving your money. This is a time-consuming and quite worldly activity that requires a lot of reading and filtering out the good from the bad. Difficult to do if you also have daily work, family, or any other commitment to juggle. Some investors take a 'scattergun' approach to thinking ICO that if they buy 10 or more (with only limited DD on each) then the good will outweigh the losses and the investor will end up in a net profit position.
There is no right or wrong way to approach ICO investments, but my advice will be for DYOR (do your own research) and make sure you believe in the project. Then try to get initial allocation in a project that looks decent, has a good team, shows signs of community support and has at least a demo of their product available for viewing.
What to avoid - anonymous teams, no demo products, short papers or 'cookie cutter', the 'me too' concept that's often seen, the founder who keeps most of the coins or websites presented poorly with little info.
When it is time to get your ICO coins, be sure to transfer them to your own wallet and choose your time to sell. Maybe hold some and sell some at the beginning of exchange trade, to lower your investment risk on average. If you believe in this project then it makes sense to keep some of your coins for a long term investment and who knows it might be worth 500x someday!
